CAN I ADD ONTO AN EXISTING METAL STRUCTURE BUILDING?
Yes, in most cases, we can add onto your existing metal structure. However, we will only add on to an R&B Metal Structures building. For orders of $500.00 or less, there is a $150.00 return trip fee.
CAN YOU ATTACH A CARPORT/BUILDING TO ANOTHER METAL BUILDING OR EVEN MY HOUSE?
Yes, it is possible to attach a metal carport or building to an R&B Metals’ structure. However, we will not attach one of our metal buildings to another company’s metal building. We cannot guarantee the integrity of a building that wasn’t built by us or with our standards.
DOES MY LOT NEED TO BE LEVEL?
Yes and no. You will need to have your lot as level as possible to ensure that the metal building installation goes as smoothly as possible. Our teams are able to offer 4 inches of adjustment in case the lot is unable to be completely level. If your lot requires more adjustment, contact us to schedule a site visit so we can discuss the options you have available.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE BEFORE MY NEW METAL BUILDING CAN BE INSTALLED?
Our lead times – the time between order and installation – is always varying depending on business growth. In most cases, the lead times are approximately 4 to 6 weeks, though we do try to reduce those, when time permits. Our scheduling department contacts our customers within 5 to 10 business days prior to the installation to schedule a time and date that works best.
WHAT ARE THE DIMENSIONS OF YOUR METAL BUILDINGS?

We measure our metal buildings by width, length and height (W x L x H). For example: 18′ x 21′ x 5′ – the base frame size is 18 x 20 x 6. Our metal buildings have a 6 inch overhang on both roof ends, making the roof 1 foot longer than the base rails. When measuring the width of your metal building, you’ll measure from the outside of one base rail to the opposite rail.
WHAT IS THE HIGHEST LEG HEIGHT I CAN GET?
Our Structure Catalog shows that 12 foot legs is the highest that are listed. However, we are able to accommodate up to 16 foot legs with 3 feet on the center. Structures over 9 feet high will be considered commercial and may incur an additional labor and/or lift rental cost.
WHAT IS THE WIDEST METAL BUILDING I CAN GET?
Our single metal structures can range from 12 feet to 40 feet wide, and our standard widths are: 12, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 36, and 40. Wider metal structures will incur higher costs. Our barn-style metal structures are available up to 70 feet wide. Structures over 30 feet wide will be considered commercial and may incur an additional labor and/or lift rental cost.
WHAT SIZE CONCRETE SLAB SHOULD I POUR?
The slab should be one foot smaller than the width of your new metal building. For example: 18 x 21 x 6 – base rail frame is 18 x 20 x 6, the slab should be 18 x 20.
WHAT TYPES OF ANCHORS DO YOU USE FOR INSTALLATION?
We use three different kinds of anchors:

-
Ground/Asphalt require 30 inch Rebar Anchors and 36 inch Auger Anchors (Mobile Home Anchors)
-
Concrete requires 6 inch expansion bolts.
WHEN ARE EXTRA BRACES REQUIRED?
Every metal carport or metal building comes with 4 corner braces. However, we recommend extra braces on any metal building or carport with 8 foot legs and taller. We also recommend roof braces.

On most of our standard buildings, we use 30 inch corner braces and 4 foot roof braces. On our larger metal structures, we use 4 foot corner braces and 8 foot roof braces. Our Certified Metal Buildings come standard with all of the necessary bracing.
WHEN IS A VERTICAL ROOF RECOMMENDED?
We strongly recommend all buildings longer than 36 feet have a vertical roof. This is due to seams that will result in the two sheets of steel being joined. Over time this may result in a leak at this seam.
IS FINANCING AVAILABLE?
Financing is available through R&B Metal Structures. A 10% deposit is required at the time yor order is placed. Rates are as low as 9.99% with financing up to 72 months! Restrictions may apply.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR A BUILDING TO BE CERTIFIED?
A certified building has been approved by a licensed engineer to with stand up to 140 MPH winds and 30 PSF snow load. This may require additional anchors and braces that are already calculated and included in your cost. They also come with engineered drawings and a limited lifetime warranty.
DO I NEED TO PULL A PERMIT FOR MY UNIT?
Location will determine this. Every city is different on their requirements for permits. If your city does require a building permit, you would be responsible for obtaining one BEFORE delivery.
